The Women’s Intercontinental Championship has been announced, with a tournament to crown the first ever champion starting on Monday Night RAW December 2, 2024. The RAW Women’s Division is jockeying for momentum, making Dakota Kai’s match against American Made’s Ivy Nile all the more important. On WWE Main Event June 6, 2024 Dakota ended a month’s long losing streak with a win over Nile. Could Kai repeat that feat for her first singles victory since returning from injury earlier in the month of November?

Ivy has changed since Dakota and her last battled during a Women’s Money in the Bank Triple Threat Qualifying Match on Monday Night RAW July 1, 2024. Nile and The Creed Brothers forsake their honorable ways to hook up with the egomaniacal Chad Gable, forming American Made.

Nile’s stablemates would stay in the back just as Kairi Sane and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL didn’t accompany Dakota. The King Kota Movement was strong in Glendale. King Kota slapped hands on her way to the ring, even blowing some kisses after posing on the apron. Nile attacked Kai with fury from the opening bell. Kai bounced back, smashing Nile’s head into three turnbuckles followed by two armdrags and a dropkick. Ivy took back control with a grappling clothesline to Kai’s throat, followed soon after by a stalling vertical suplex.

Ivy’s second attempt at a suplex was countered into an inside cradle for two. Before Kai could mount a comeback, Nile canvassed her with a clothesline. Fans rallied Dakota to work her way to her feet out of Nile’s leg muffler. Kai rolled Nile to the canvas followed by two clotheslines and a dropkick. Nile wobbled to the corner, prone to the Kaio Kick and running face wash. Kai went for a cover but Ivy kicked out at two. Dakota lifted Nile up on her shoulders for Go to Kick, but Ivy wiggled off hitting a bridging German suplex for two.

Dakota caught Ivy’s kick, twirling herself around and sweeping Nile with a kick to the leg. Scorpion Kick. Kairopractor. 1-2-3. And Your Winner Dakota Kai. The Captain of Team Kick acknowledged the support of the crowd, grateful for their part in her building momentum heading into the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
