January 28th 2023. San Antonio, Texas. Alamodome. WWE Royal Rumble 2023. Damage CTRL declared dominance a head of the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble Match. Bayley was confidant about their chances. Dakota Kai felt sorry for the other 27 competitors who had no chance winning once The Ladies were all entered and worked together. IYO stated like only she can that everyone would find out who runs WWE. The Ladies showed up and kicked a lot of ass. Bayley was the first of the three to enter at number 6. But this is Dakota's tale so I'll fast forward to Our Captain.

The countdown hit zero. The buzzer went off. Number 9 made her long run to the ring. It was Dakota Kai. Bayley who was under attack from a few women including NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez was saved by Kai who busted out the uranage backbreaker. The scorpion kick stung Emma. It's all about Dakota not Emma! The Ladies were joined shortly by Number 10 IYO SKY. Bayley and the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions proceeded to dominate. The Ladies started the Damage Elimination Row sending Dana Brooke to the floor and back to Main Event on Hulu.

Bayley sent Emma over the top to the apron so Dakota could eliminate her with the Kaio-Kick. Roxanne Perez tried to sneak herself an elimination but IYO and Bayley came to Kai's rescue. Perez had one last wind in her before getting dumped over the top rope via a triple team where Bayley draped her over her shoulder while Kai launched IYO into her like a missile. Following her entry, Candice LeRae had Kai and SKY close to elimination but they hung on. Before Candice could try again, Shayna Baszler snuffed her with a murder knee strike. Kai and SKY got some revenge on their old NXT rival, helping Bayley eliminate Shayna plus Natalya as those two battled each other.

The Ladies got some shots in on Rhea Ripley. Zoey Stark was number 13 and unloaded her fury on The Ladies including a roundhouse kick to Kai. Fortunately, The Ladies regained control unleashing some hell on Liv Morgan and Candice. Speaking of that wretched pixie, IYO eliminated her. One arch-pest was out of the way. Another would enter at number 15. Bitter Time Becky Lynch.

Damage CTRL exited between the ropes and attacked Becky at ringside. Lynch fought off Kai and SKY, meeting up with Bayley in the ring. Bayley tossed Lynch who went through the ropes instead of over. Bayley and SKY smashed Lynch into the barricade before Kai and SKY flung her over the commentary table. Hey, Becks earned herself some frequent fly miles so she should be grateful. Number 16 was Kai's former best friend Tegan Nox. Sadness. Kai found herself under attack by Nox who set her up for a gourdbuster only to nearly crack her head open with a knee strike.

Becky would recover, hitting the ring and Bayley. The double DDT combo to Kai and SKY. Oh, welcome back and goodbye Chelsea Green. Mami Rhea Ripley tossed her out in record time. Serves that Karen right for eliminating Our Captain in 2020. Sadly, Our Captain would soon find herself meeting the same fate in 2023. Becky tossed out Kai followed by SKY. A sacrifice perhaps as Bayley snuck up on Becky ejecting her over the top and to the floor. Or not a sacrifice after all thanks to Olivia eliminating Bayley. There will be hell to pay for that!

The war between The Ladies and Becky is far from over. They brawled on the floor. It went into the crowd and to the backstage area. Where it stopped who knows. So, The Ladies didn't win but they dominated. Our Captain had a standout performance. Damage was declared and delivered.
