December 5, 2021. NXT WarGames. Dakota Kai and Toxic Attraction would face Raquel Gonzalez, Kay Lee Ray, Io Shirai and Cora Jade in the 2021 Women's WarGames. Kai would prove to be the true leader for her ragtag team starting the match at number one for her team and fighting her heart out for 31 minutes -- just like she had done the previous year. After being disrespected by and looked down at by her Toxic teammates in the weeks leading up to the match, Kai was finally offered some kind words from Mandy Rose on The Bump and in the interview filmed for the video package.

War is war and this time there was no holding back against Cora on Dakota's behalf when the youngster entered into the fray. WarGames would ultimately prove that Toxic Attraction and The Captain of Team Kick were just a marriage of convenient inconvenience. Despite that, Gigi Dolin -- who nearly came to blows with Kai days before -- worked in synch with her for a bit. But once Mandy entered into the match as the last one for her team, it clearly became the Toxic Attraction featuring Dakota Kai show.

Dakota would still deliver on her end, circling Cora with her teammates and actually grabbing control of the match for the team with a blow to Jade's back. Toxic Attraction would take Cora out with the V-Trigger but failed to get the pinfall victory as Jade kicked out! Toxic Attraction were too bewildered by her resiliency to go for the kill. Dakota may have been briefly surprised herself as her counting along came to an abrupt end. But instead of going for the win herself as she had the perfect shot to do so, she chose to continue her battle with KLR whom she had engaged in combat with on-and-off since the opening bell, the two having started this match for their respective teams.

Everyone but Cora was down and out. The youngster covered Mandy to score the pinfall victory for her team. The winning team would celebrate close together from the aisle as the losing team sat glumly staring at them a bit apart. There was Toxic Attraction. A few feet away there was Dakota Kai. That said it all.

If there was any chance that winning WarGames and taking out Raquel Gonzalez in the process would have resulted in Mandy granting Dakota a shot at the NXT Women's Title, that was clearly no longer a realistic possibility. But to be honest, it's unlikely Mandy would have ever done so anyway since she's the type who doesn't "owe people" unless it benefits her. Dakota thought she was using Mandy but ultimately it was Mandy who was the one using her.

WarGames was over. Dakota's focus was still on ending Raquel. If she could accomplish that, no doubt she would look for a way to deliver on her subtle threats to come after Mandy and the title.
