March 2, 2025. Loco Club. Bristol, England, UK. ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Live at the Loco. Prepare for your future opponent by facing their tag team partner. It’s common place in pro-wrestling. Such was the case for Nixon Newell who prepared for her upcoming match against Dani Luna at ATTACK! C'est La Vie on May 18, 2025 by facing Luna’s tag team partner Jody Threat. Luna & Threat are collectively known as Spitfire. They are as of this writing the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions. It’s Dragonfire versus Spitfire. Some humor of the flame there. Look, I try. Anyway, where was I?
C'est La Vie blasted from the speakers. Nixon Newell came out from behind the curtain, receiving a warm welcome from the crowd. You know how the UK has some nifty-looking venues for pro-wrestling shows? This event was in fact literally held underground! Nixon high-fives. The crowd sung along to her theme. Nixon sung along, too. It was a party atmosphere for her first singles match since July 5, 2024 and her first in The Return of Nixon Newell Era, not to forget her first singles match back in ATTACK! Pro Wrestling.
Nixon’s entrance was finished off with her conducting the crowd to continue singing C'est La Vie since the song had stopped. Even Jody couldn’t resist the allure of C'est La Vie. Of course, unlike those two bums that Nixon & Mark Andrews faced the previous night, Jody had a healthy respect for Newell. Of course, that doesn’t mean Jody isn’t still scouting her tag partners future opponent for her.
The crowd rang the bell, in a manner of speaking. So began the match. It was an even scientific contest to start. A stalemate. There was a good-natured hand slap. Nixon pushed Jody to the ropes. Technically, it wasn’t what some might call “underhanded” or “trickery” because enough seconds had passed between the gesture and the push. Two Nixon arm drags. Jody hit the corner. Nixon charged. Threat moved. Nixon hopped over Threat who came right back at her.
Nixon ducked a clothesline, pushing Threat to the ropes. Newell hit the canvas, tripping Threat. Running PK to the chest. Jody with a shoulder tackle and Stinger Splash. Nixon ducked a clothesline. Jody held back from whipping off the ropes, thinking she would catch Nixon off-guard, only for Newell to catch her and deliver the bridging fallaway slam for one. Jody evaded Newell in the corner, firing back at her with rapid-fire clubbing clotheslines. Threat followed with an explorer suplex. Newell rolled to the floor for a moment of respite.
Jody went for a baseball slide dropkick, but Nixon casually evaded it. That was the blow (or lack thereof) that caused the match to take a rougher turn. They brawled around ringside. Jody did apologize after smashing Nixon’s head into the apron a few times. Back in the ring, both caught each other’s arms going for a headbutt. They shrugged and headbutted each other, both collapsing from the impact of the blows. They got up. Hard strikes from both. Nixon waffled Threat with a kick to the back of her skull.
Sit out gourdbuster and crossbody into a cover for two from Nixon. Threat fired back with a pump kick. Nixon sunk across the middle rope, receiving a double knees to the back. Jody followed, tossing Newell with a German suplex, stacking Nixon for two. Threat scooped Newell up for a slam, but Nixon slipped off. Jody pushed off a Welsh Destroyer, scooping Nixon up for a Michinoku driver and spiking her to the canvas for two. Nixon headbutted Threat to the corner. Charging uppercut followed by Cannonboar.
Nixon charged for The Shiniest Wizard, cut off by a brutal spear. Threat lifted Nixon up and tossed her for an F5. Nixon landed on her feet, immediately hitting the Welsh Destroyer. Newell was out of breath, taking a moment before rolling on Jody for a cover, resulting in Threat getting a shoulder up just before three. Nixon pulled Jody up, but Threat reversed it into an inside cradle for two. Nixon with a savate kick above the knee. Threat tripped Newell throat first to the middle rope as Nixon tried again for The Shiniest Wizard.
Jody charged at Nixon for another double knees. Newell evaded to the corner, immediately charging at Jody, this time successfully hitting The Shiniest Wizard. 1-2-3. And Your Winner is Nixon Newell. Dragonfire helped Spitfire to her feet. They hugged. Jody raised Nixon’s hand. Newell exited the ring, clearly feeling the wounds of this war. A friendly war but a war, nonetheless. She took in the love of the crowd one last time before high fiving Mark Andrews on her way to the backstage area.
It was a celebratory weekend for Nixon. But her return to ATTACK! was only the beginning. New opponents, old rivals, endless opportunities. A whole wide open pro-wrestling world awaits her.
